Join the #ThumbsUp4Kindness Movement in Your Classroom!

#ThumbsUp4Kindness is a grassroots project created by John Lynch, founder of the Lunch With Lynch Foundation, to inspire students to embrace kindness and understand that “The Power of Community by Paying it Forward with Random Acts of Kindness can Change the World.”

For over 25 years, Mr. Lynch has championed kindness in our local schools. Through his work with the United Way of Cape May County, the Greater Wildwood Optimist Club, and his own nonprofit foundation, Mr. Lynch has been a constant source of inspiration and support for our youth. Though not a trained educator, Mr. Lynch has developed this program based on his life experiences and his passion for empowering young minds. His dedication has earned him a warm welcome from both students and teachers.

As we continue to grow this program, we would love to hear from YOU—the incredible educators who are already making a difference every day. We want to know:

  • How do you promote kindness in your classroom?

  • What are some examples of how your students pay it forward?

  • How have you seen kindness create a positive ripple effect in your school community?

By sharing your stories and ideas, you’ll help us refine our #ThumbsUp4Kindness Monthly Activities, creating meaningful experiences that inspire students throughout the year. Together, we can foster a culture of kindness that will benefit not only your classroom but the community at large.

Sample Monthly Activities (Subject to Teacher Feedback):

  1. Kindness Journals: Encourage students to keep a daily log of acts of kindness they perform or witness.

  2. Kindness Chain Reaction: Challenge students to perform a random act of kindness and pass it forward, creating a "chain reaction" throughout the school.

  3. Classroom Kindness Awards: Recognize students who go above and beyond to help their peers with a monthly award, like the “Kindness Superstar.”

  4. Community Kindness Projects: Partner with local businesses, like we do with our Lunch With Lynch Foundation, to create opportunities for students to get involved in community service.

  5. Compliment Wall: Set up a space where students can write anonymous compliments for their peers, spreading positivity and kindness every day.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and showcasing them as part of #ThumbsUp4Kindness! Let’s work together to make kindness a cornerstone of our students’ education.
